The Inspiration for Pocket JJacks, Fashion Poker Tee Shirts, came from 2 places; the love of Fashion and the love of POKER. Founder, Jacqueline Marchan Britton, has been in the Fashion Business for 18 years, buying, selling, merchandising, and producing clothing for all manner of customers. She found that the POKER tee shirt market could use a true fashion inspiration and injection of modern trends. In particular, for women, there was absolutely NOTHING available that was FEMININE. So she started there, making cute, sexy embellished tees with subtle poker motifs that could be worn by the poker lover and the non-player as well. However, today, POKER is still 95% MEN players. So to have a successful POKER Tee Shirt Company, she added awesome, COOL, fashion POKER TEES for Men too!
Ms. Britton started playing POKER about 5 years ago and evolved into mostly a tournament player, playing Texas Hold ‘Em and Omaha in all the Southern California Card Clubs and Vegas and Online. You can usually find her at the major tournament events, like LA Poker Classic, Legends of Poker, the World Series of Poker, the Ladies State Championship and at her favorite events, the LADIES “QUEENS” series at the Bicycle Casino 4 times a year. Why Pocket JJacks?? Well first of all, Pocket Aces was taken…and Jacqueline is often called Jacq for short by her friends, she never did like Jackie, but Jacq or Jack was cool.
Secondly, Pocket JJacks is one of the most challenging hands in POKER, on one hand it’s thrilling to look down and see them, but they must be played JUST RIGHT in order to win. They’re good, but high risk with lots of potential and lots of danger. Owning your own business is a lot like that, thrilling but risky, with lots of potential if you do it just right. So with all that, it seemed like a good fit. |
